Job Description Job Description position summary Merjent, Inc.
(Merjent) is seeking biological field technicians to work
independently and/or as part of a team conducting ecological
surveys in support of utility, transportation, and development
projects throughout the U.S. Biological field technicians provide
technical support to a biological field lead during field surveys,
which require a basic understanding of ecology, botany, soils,
hydrology, and habitat assessments, and exhibit a desire to learn
and develop proficiency for multiple ecological survey types. There
are seasonal and full-time opportunities available for this
opening. Seasonal roles are expected to begin in April 2026 and end
in October 2026. Employment may continue beyond October if there is
continuing work available. The pay rate for these positions is
$23.25 to $26.25 per hour based on qualifications and experience of
the successful candidates. These are non-exempt positions and will
receive overtime compensation for any time worked over 40 hours

agencies. responsibilities Support or conduct wetland and stream
delineations, threatened & endangered species surveys, functional
assessments, habitat assessments, vegetation surveys, and wildlife
surveys. Assist with reporting requirements. Comply with Merjent
and project or client specific safety requirements. qualifications
and experience Bachelor's degree or higher in natural resources.
Experience with fieldwork is strongly desired. Ability to lift and
move up to 25 pounds. Ability to sit, stand, walk, use all limbs,
talk, and hear. The work environment will consist of both urban and
remote field settings, which may include work in adverse weather
conditions, and in some instances, irregular and/or steep terrain.
Ability to assist with data entry, report writing, developing
Health and Safety Plans, placing One Calls, and other office tasks
when not in the field. Familiarity with ESRI software and GPS data
collection. Familiarity with common biological survey types and
associated protocols. Ability to work well under pressure, and to
manage heavy workloads in highly mobile and changing work
environments. Ability to conduct field work for 10 hours per day,
sometimes in adverse conditions. Ability to work weekends,
multi-week shifts away from home and regularly work more than 40
hours per week. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving
record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. E-Verify
