The Licensed Practical Nurse within this organization functions as a nursing team member under the direction and guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. He/she is responsible for delivering safe physical and emotional care to Veterans, in a variety of settings, while enhancing technical skills and nursing knowledge. [ "The LPN GS 3 will perform at a novice level. He/she is responsible for direct patient care activities and clerical support under the supervision of the registered nurse RN or Provider, and assignment/s with supplemental verbal instructions that are given by the RN/Provider. The practical nurse seeks guidance from the RN, Provider or more experienced LPN when assistance or clarification is needed with the assignment. The knowledge required of this position includes a variety of uncomplicated veteran centered physical and behavioral interventions. The LPN GS 3 performs aspects of nursing care at a novice level that require:\na. A basic understanding of the total veteran care program.\nb. Understanding of simple scientific facts and principles\nc. A broad spectrum of technical skills at a novice level.\nd. Adaptation of procedure to meet individual veteran needs,\ne. Recognition of the inter-relatedness of the veteran's behavior and physical condition. The LPN GS 4 will perform at an advanced novice level. He/she is responsible for direct patient care activities and clerical support under the supervision of the registered nurse RN or Provider, and assignment/s with supplemental verbal instructions that are given by the RN/Provider. The LPN, GS4 carries out all functions and duties of an LPN; however, they seek guidance as needed from the RN/Provider, or more experienced LPN when assistance or clarification is needed with the assignment. The knowledge required of this position includes a variety of basic veteran centered physical and behavioral interventions. The LPN GS 4 performs aspects of nursing care at an advanced novice level that require:\na. An understanding of the total veteran care program.\nb. Understanding of general scientific facts and principles\nc. A broad spectrum of technical skills at an advanced novice level.\nd. Adaptation of procedure to meet individual veteran needs,\ne. Recognition of the cause and effect relationship between the veteran's behavior and physical condition. The LPN GS 4 can be a resource to GS 3 LPNs and other GS 4 LPNs regarding general basic clinic processes. The LPN GS 5 will perform at an intermediate level. He/she is responsible for direct veteran care activities and provider practice support under the supervision of the registered nurse RN or Provider, and assignment/s with supplemental verbal instructions that are given by the RN/Provider. The LPN, GS 5 carries out all functions and duties of an LPN. Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent technical judgement without the need for readily available supervision; however, they are expected to seek input from the RN/Provider, or more experienced LPN when assistance or clarification is needed with the assignment. The knowledge required of this position includes a variety of basic veteran centered physical and behavioral interventions. The LPN GS 5 performs aspects of nursing care at an intermediate level that require:\na. An understanding of the total veteran care program.\nb. Understanding of general scientific facts and principles\nc. A broad spectrum of technical skills at an advanced novice level.\nd. Adaptation of procedure to meet individual veteran needs,\ne. Recognition of the cause and effect relationship between the veteran's behavior and physical condition. Provides effective education to veteran and/or family members in relation to common disease processes, medication and/or prescribed treatment regimes. The LPN GS 5 can be a resource to GS 3 LPNs and other GS 4 LPNs regarding general basic clinic processes. The LPN GS 6 will perform at an advanced level. He/she is responsible for direct patient care activities and provider practice support under minimal supervision by the registered nurse RN or Provider. The LPN, GS 6 carries out all functions and duties of an LPN. Demonstrate the ability to exercise independent technical judgement without the need for readily available supervision; however, they are expected to seek input from the RN/Provider when assistance or clarification is needed with the assignment. The knowledge required of this position includes a variety of veteran centered physical and behavioral interventions. The LPN GS-6 performs aspects of nursing care at an advanced level that require:\na. An understanding of the total veteran care program.\nb. Understanding of complex scientific facts and principles\nc. A broad spectrum of technical skills at an advanced level.\nd. Adaptation of procedure to meet individual veteran needs,\ne. Recognition of the cause and effect relationship between the veteran's behavior and physical condition or anticipates the potential for such a situation. Work Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, Evenings and weekends maybe required.\nFinancial Disclosure Report: Not required" ]
