Job Description:
Description SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of
workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or
shipment by performing the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned. Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity
of product, containers to be used and other packaging
requirements.Inspects products prior to packaging and returns
rejected products to production departments.Observes packaging
operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to
specifications.Starts, adjusts and repairs packaging machinery, or
notifies maintenance department.Requisitions containers and other
supplies for delivery to work stations.Studies production schedules
and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job
assignment.Interprets company policies to workers and reinforces
safety regulations.Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet
production schedules.Recommends measures to improve production
methods, equipment performance and quality of product.Suggests
changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase
efficiency and safety of department and work crew.Establishes and
maintains housekeeping standards.Analyzes and resolves work
problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.Initiates or
suggests plans to train and motivate workers to achieve work
goals.Maintains time and production records.Confers with other
supervisors and lead people to coordinate activities of individual
departments.Performs activities of workers supervised.Other duties
may be assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school;
or three to six months related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate
figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING
ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a
variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is
usually loud.
