ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING - LTC
The Assistant Director of Nursing (LTC), will work alongside the
DON and other Clinical Managers to lead nursing staff and all
nursing services provided to residents/patients of Country Manor's
Health Care & Rehab Center.
The ADON will be responsible to help direct and oversee the nursing
department, in accordance with customer need, government
regulations and company policies, while upholding Country Manor's
culture, values, and mission.

and patients of Country Manor's Health Care & Rehab Center.
A successful ADON will be responsible, attentive, knowledgeable,
and provides high-quality care to patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for planning, organization, direction to ensure
safe, efficient resident care by use of nursing process, care
planning, resident teaching, accurate documentation
- Assist the clinical nursing supervisors in problem solving for
residents, their families, and staff as well as regularly
monitoring and evaluating resident care
- Implements effective controls to monitor, evaluate, and report
the standards of care
- Takes responsibility for effectiveness of standards of
care
- Prioritizes and works efficiently
- Delegates to staff appropriately based on their job
description, competence, and skill level
- Participates in various meetings and committees throughout the
facility to maintain excellent resident care
- Maintains knowledge and adherence to state, federal, and local
nursing policies and procedures
- Participates with the preparation of VAA reports and
investigations
- Oversees the scheduling and staffing of all nursing personnel,
maintains compliance with staffing hours and productivity
standards, including after hour supervisors
- Monitors and adjusts staffing patterns to improve unit
productivity
- Coordinates supplies and assists in supplies expenses and
management, including regular, timely reporting of resource
utilization
- Participates fully in all Health, Safety, and Emergency related
initiatives and policies
- Creates a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect for
all
- Helps hire, train, teach, and monitor nurses
- Manages clinical operations and developing care plans
- Ensures nursing staff follows department procedures and
policies
- Conducts patient rounds and addresses complaints for designated
neighborhoods
- Schedules/runs staff meetings for patient updates, issues, and
recommendations as needed
- Keeps patient and employee records updated and accurate
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Responsible for coordination of Quality Assurance Performance
Improvement activities
- Assumes the role of back-up RN Managerial positions as
needed
- Understands and adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality
regulations in all situationsEDUCATION:
- Associate Degree in Nursing upon hire or
- Diploma in Nursing upon hire or
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing upon hireEXPERIENCE (PREFERRED,
BUT NOT REQUIRED):
- 2 years or more nursing experience in Long Term Care or Charge
Nurse, Educator, MDS, or Infection Control
- 2 years administrative, survey processes, and vulnerable adult
reportingLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse (RN) Current Minnesota license Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
certification RequiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MDS experienceADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in
English
- Knowledge of nursing, including gerontology and related
clinical aspects
- Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness and critical judgment in
emergencies
- Ability to provide leadership, direction and evaluate
employees
- Ability to collaborate with other health care
professionals
- Knowledge of RAI process, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and
state and federal regulations relating to Long Term Care
- Ability to mentor, supervise, and convey education concepts to
nursing staff effectively in a clear, concise manner
- Knowledge to develop and implement organizational strategies to
improve delivery of care
- Proficient computer skills
- Professional and courteous customer service skillsThis is a
benefit-eligible position, working primarily Monday-Friday day
hours with occasional weekend and Holiday supervisory shifts.
