Job Description A leading manufacturer of power transmission products located in the greater Minneapolis, MN area is seeking a V.P. of Manufacturing to join a well established, profitable company and provide leadership and direction of its Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials and Purchasing operations. The successful candidate needs to be a results orientated leader who would be willing to relocate to Minnesota and have a proven track record in Fortune 200 and privately owned companies with sales over $100M. Included in the responsibilities will be providing leadership and implementing lean manufacturing/ continuous improvement strategies designed to help the organization achieve world class manufacturing excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Executive Management Provide the vision of the manufacturing operation and develop long-range goals and objectives, while developing subordinates through mentoring/coaching and project involvement. Serve as a key and active member of the Senior Management team, interacting with the team to ensure business objectives are aligned and that the company is performing to operational objectives. Insure for the efficient and economical manufacturing of the company---s products in conformance with established goals and objectives. Be a team builder who has a passion to improve the operations and make the company successful Operations Ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness Partner with the Sales team to meet with customers to discuss and set scheduling timelines for product delivery Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to establish customer and company quality standards Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Act as a liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/departments manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and results Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Position requirements: BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or BA Business Administration 15 years of Manufacturing Management with increasingly responsible experience Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing based technology and Lean Tools. (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5s, Kanban, etc.) History of championing continuous improvement projects and initiatives Experience and knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO/TS 16949 quality systems Strong leadership skills and people management skills.
