Job Description:

Qualifications/Experience: High School Diploma/GED and passed ParaPro/Para Educator testing (or 60 college credits) required. A successful background check is required. Prefer experience working with children. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed: Patience, flexibility, love for children, confidentiality, teamwork, self-starter, takes direction easily, excellent communication skills, behavior management skills, assist in the classroom and in special education classroom. Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self- discipline, and honesty. Specific Tasks: Work with students throughout the day assisting with behavior and academics. Refocus the student in the classroom, de-escalate negative behavior, recognize and acknowledge positive behavior, and work cooperatively with the special ed teacher and Special Education staff. Days/Hours for ESY Program: 7:45am-11:45am (4.0 hours/day) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday June 15-17 & 22-24 Monday & Tuesday June 29 & 30 ESY total hours: IAs (8 days1 day set up/tear down) = 40 hours total
