If you're friendly and dependable and you like to work with terrific guests, we'd love to talk about an opportunity on our team.About the Accountant II:Coborn's is looking for a motivated Accountant II whose primary focus is to plan, implement, manage, and control financial activities for the assigned banner/business line. As the Accountant II you will be responsible for all accounting, business support and analysis for the area of responsibility. You will be heavily involved in the month end close process, financial statement preparation and inventory calculations. Additional involvement includes planning/budgeting and P&L analysis. This position reports to the Coborn's Inc. Assistant Controller.Additional Duties Include:Participate in processes of planning, budgeting, and reporting as well as special projects and various company initiatives.Prepare journal entries, conduct account reconciliations and act as a collaborative business partner between the stores and the support center accounting department.Provide accurate and timely analysis of financial results to various levels of the leadership team at the support center and at the retail stores; this will include a comparison of actual financial results against projected and prior year results.Effectively work with store management, district/region management, and senior leadership to identify opportunities affecting the financial results, improve processes and collaborate with store leadership to get back on track.Assess accounting risk for the business unit and providing appropriate feedback while helping to drive consistent accounting policies and efficient practices throughout the organization.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and a minimum of five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong knowledge of US GAAP required.Extensive knowledge of accounting processes and internal controls required, preferably with experience in retail.Management experience preferred but not required.Perks of joining our team:Vacation Pay, Holidays and Sunday Premium PayEmployee Discount & Company-Sponsored Stock (ESOP) (Employee Stock Ownership Plan)Employee Growth & Development Opportunities401(k) plans with Company MatchVoluntary Benefits - Including Vision InsuranceFull-Time Employees are eligible for: Medical & Dental Insurance and Tuition ReimbursementCoborn's, Inc. is a fast-growing employee-owned grocery retailer located in the Midwest.
